Announcing a new Meetup for Outdoor Adventure Club South - Chattanooga!
What: Conasauga Lake Camping, Hiking , Paddling Weekend!
When: Friday, April 16, 2010 5:00 PM

Two days of camping (car camping), at one of the most popular places in North Ga. a 20 acre man made lake, the highest lake in the state at 3450 feet elevation!! We will camp, hike to the fire tower, see the sunset!! hike back after dark, to a nice dinner You can flatwater paddle on thelake canoes, kayaks, john boats, or fish!! it is a spring fed lake, this is a perfect place for kids and the dogs!! It has running water flushable toilets but no electricity and no showers! We may do another hike on Sunday if everyone wants to!! This bordersthe Cohutta Wilderness 46000 acres of wilderness, one of the best in the country!! We have 20 from Atlanta attending!! so its first come first serve on campsites, but they do have an overflow area, not far away!! there is a 12.00 dollar camping fee but sites can be shared with two or three families! You can arrive anytime on Friday its opening day of the campground, so the earlier the better!!
