  •  Thank you for joining our group. We are have many things coming up. As you can see, we will be hosting an Atlatl throwing competition this Saturday that is free to the public. We hope to educate people about the ways the prehistoric people survived thousands of years ago. In April, we are going to remove invasive plants so that we can plant native flowers and vegetables in their place. We hope to teach people about the foodways of the ancient Americans. And there is lots more to come.

  •  Hi Sheryl,
I haven't gone on any hikes yet. Unfortunately, I have been too busy with the fire academy. I hope to go on one soon.

  •  Sheryl,
Fancy meeting you in the Libertarian group. Come to the meeting next Sat, if you can. You love to see you again.

  •  Hi Sheryl- Were you part of the Chat group that Anissa and I met up with
towards the end?? Were you in the pink shirt?? You look different in this picture. Had a great time meeting you and the others.

  •  What are the major topics? We have so much going on...birth certificates, swine flu vaccines, national guard, housing market...what is the priority?

  •  That's awesome about the bongos. Those would sound good with a djembe.
Send me a message through this link and I'll get my e-mail address to you or just send the directions there.

  •  If I can get one of my Signal Mtn. friends to tell me how to get to the Signal Point trail-head, I'll try to make the hike. That sounds fun. I like to take my bike on the River Walk for lack of knowing where else to go with it. Listen to lot's of Abraham .mp3s. I'm learning to play my djembe (African drum) and I've found out about a couple of drum circles I can go to. Are you guys going swimming? I'm not big on getting wet, but the hike sounds fun.

  •  Sheryl - I'm not a member of those groups, so I don't know about them, but the hike sounds fun. Where are you going? I just saw you were into Abraham-Hicks and some other cool things that I like. Nice to have you as a friend.

  •  Yes, let's just meet with all the others at the Signal Point trail-head and then you can follow me from there to the other unofficial trail-head to make the shorter hike past Mushroom Rock and down to the swimming hole. See you there between 10:00 and 10:30 right?

    Derrick Smith (Aug 04, 2009 9:52 AM)
  •  Yes let's just do that and then you can follow me from there to the other trail head to make it a much shorter hike to the swimming hole

  •  Hey Sheryl, do you mean Sat. Aug. 8th?

  •  I have no idea where (I've been here less than 3 months) but I'm sure wherever you pick will be great! Do we need to arrange a carpool because of limited parking? I'm busy this upcoming weekend so Aug 8-9th or 15-16th works for me (If you want 2 days, I can do Fri or Mon as well). Let's try getting a group together - this way some can hike and others hang out. Let me know what works for you and I'll ask Liz or Lou (Social Meetup Grp) or both. Looking forward to this trip!

  •  Sorry I missed you while you were out of town today but I will definitely try again next time. It's always nice to have someone else to hike with even though I usually end up going alone or with the dogs. Be sure to check out my photos which I took today on the hike down at Rainbow Falls. The water is getting pretty low there and the falls were nothing more than a trickle today. We need a couple big rains to fill up that creek and make the falls impressive again!

  •  Hi Sheryl! Are you up for a hike today on very short to no notice? If so and you can meet me up at signal Point by about 1 PM, give me a reply by 12:30 PM before I head out. Okay? If not, it's no big deal. Thanks, Derrick

  •  You got it! I'm in a way ready now...as I said just gotta take it slow :). Biking is actually a good therapy for me right now :)

  •  Oh my goodness I am ALWAYS looking for a hiking partner! I've been sidelined as of late with a minor injury but I can still do a little at a time. :)
