October 23rd arriving and Oct 24th we have a day hike combined with the other groups!! spend the night in Townsend tennessee 18 miles from the trailhead! and do the Chimneys If you have never done this hike It is one of the most rewarding hikes in the smokies! Its short, 2 miles each way , but difficult, and not for people who have a fear of heights! Its about two hours from chattanooga, so it could be also done in a day! and be home by dark! Its a diificult climb on the last 100 yrds, and dangerous! and the last 100 feet are up rock walls! but on the top you will be standing on a spot of about 20 square feet, with the valley 1350 feet below you all around!! and a fantastic view! Google Chimney Tops and check it out!! Google chimney tops trail and view the video to check it out!!
