Do you want to immerse yourself in hang gliding for a day?
If so, join us on Sunday, June-19th.
Early in the morning you will be learning to fly in a control environment, simply gliding over the slopes of the small training hills, only 5 to 10 feet off the ground with several certified instructors on hand to help guide you step by step
After the morning session, you will be towed up to about 2,000 feet by a small airplane, then glide slowly for about 10 minutes and finally land the hang glider on a grassy field while guided by your instructor, who is also flying with you!
On our previous hang gliding events you only had one instructor, Ozzie, and a large group. This time around we will have several certified instructors helping and flying with you. You will not only get to fly with one of them but also begin learning how to set up a hang glider, ground handling, flying conditions and much more with several hang gliders that you actually help put together along with your group!
While flying tandem, all members will be gathered at a pavilion next to the take off spot. You'll be able to see all other members as they take turns to fly while waiting, talking and sharing the experience with each other!
Please note you are also welcome if you feel like you will just like to see this event but not fly at this time.
The cost for this event will be $169 for the Introductory Experience Package at Lookout Mt. Flight Park. Please note the cost for this package is normally $199

Directions: From Chattanooga, TN
From South Broad St [just south of 24] 1.2 mi.
Turn Left on Tennessee Ave. [Later St. Elmo. Ave] 0.4 mi.
Bear Right on Ochs Hwy (TN-58) 2.9 mi.
Continue on Red Riding Hood, once on top of Lookout Mountain, for 0.5 mi.
Bear Right on Lula Lake and then Immediate Left on McFarland Rd. (GA-157) 0.6 mi.
Turn Left on Scenic Hwy (GA-157) 7.5 mi.
Basically follow signs to Rock City, once on top of the Mt. follow signs for Covenant Collage on Scenic Hwy & drive pass Covenant 6.25 miles. Flight Park is on Right.

As of today, the weather is looking very good again. And for those that have asked, yes I will try to set up another flying event sometime in July.

We are full again. Terry, Kerry and 2 guest are in. The rest of the group that has already signed up is from Atlanta.
You may get your shoes a bit wet, and you will definitely be very sweaty, I recommend a change of clothes and a bathing suit to cool off in the pool at the landing field while we wait for the tandems
Anybody coming please remember to sign up with the flight park directly. We will actually go by those to know how is coming. The Atlanta group is joining us again on Saturday. There are only 3 or 4 spots left!
Hey Mike, both days are correct in addition to the 13th. So we have 3 flying days to choose from. June 13th, 19th & 27th
I hope you can make it to one of them.
OK, I have finally posted the additional days we can go flying. There are limited spots for this event, 15 members, so in addition to your RSVP at the Meetup web site, you need to pay the Flight Park directly as soon as possible. That will be the RSVP we will base who is coming on.
LMFP closes on Wednesdays but is open today and Thursday from 9am to 6pm.

I added this date mainly to help the very large Meetup group from Atlanta. I hope this help some of our members in Chattanooga as well.
