Do you want to go flying tandem in a hang glider with an instructor?

If so, join us on Sunday. You will be towed up to about 2,000 feet by a small airplane, then glide slowly for about 10 minutes and finally land the hang glider on a grassy field while guided by your instructor, who is also flying with you!

All members showing up will be gathered at a pavilion next to the take off spot. You'll be able to see all other members as they take turns to fly while waiting, talking and sharing the experience with each other!
Please note you are also welcome if you feel like you will just like to see this event but not fly at this time.
I need to have a rough number of flying members by Saturday to reserve a spot for us since we will be aero towing. Last minute "pilots" are still welcome. The cost for this event will be to cover the aero tow tickets [$40] You don't have to pay in advance. Only if you fly!

Weather forecast was looking very good, now they are calling for 50% chance of rain?#@.

Weather.com radar is looking pretty ominous, so I think you've made the right call. I'll definitely be looking for the reschedule date. Thanks for all the updates & for hanging in till the last minute!

Rain is too close. Worst is the wind picking up speed ahead of the storm! Sorry guys. I promised I'll show up so I'll be there but I think we lost this time. I'll check my calendar and see when we can do it again. With so many wanting to fly we probably will do it a few times any way. Good Sunday everyone.

OK, let?s call this a soft cancellation; I will be there at 9am. I think no rain before 1 or 2pm but every weather channel I checked says rain by 9 or 10am. Only possible problem is light turbulence & 5knots wings changing to 15 knots by 2pm. Good chances of getting a few flights before 12pm but not guarantees... If conditions are good and you are there we are flying! We are rescheduling again soon for those not wanting to take the risk. We should arrange for better weather next time!

Here is what I propose; Lets change time to 9am at the same spot mention above. If you can't make it or don't wont to gamble and waste time, we will be doing it again son. If you need to show up later than 9am ask for our group at the shop or call me [masked]. I?ll check the weather again at 4 or 5am and post one last comment

I am wrong a lot... but this time I still think it won't start raining before 2 or 3pm! I hate disagreeing with the weather channel... My only concern is that it may be too windy to make it pleasant experience for beginners and I don't like scaring people!

I don't mind showing up and playing it by ear but I'll check in the morning for any last minute updates.

I'll be out all day with not chance to check conditions till' later. I'm a bit hart broken about this. My predictions are very diff. from main weather channels. I think rain will start late. But what do I now? Any weather gurus out there? I don't mind showing up tomorrow if any body still wants to take the chance .

Please be on the look out for an email on Saturday afternoon/evening. I will make a last minute call since the weather forecast has changed several times the last couple of days. I am afraid it is starting to look not so good.

Will do Pam. Rules? What rules? Just kidding...Not drinking for me, that's for sure. After all this, the weather may decide for us. It keeps looking bad for now. But it may change.

Guys this is turning out to be a double meetup event! A) Social meeting while waiting at the pavilion. B) Fun flying As I said before, non flying or extra members are welcome! It may be as fun as those bar meetings but without the noise... I hope everybody gets to fly. If not we will try more often. Thanks,

I changed the RSVP settings to have a limit of 16 and I added a waiting list. I hope that helps. I've never done this so I hope it does work OK. Also, I'll check with the flight park to see how busy they are that morning and if possible may change the time to 9 am

Wow! This many people wanting to fly? After attending a couple of events, it is my experience that not everybody that has RSVPed yes or maybe will show up. I even thought that because of short notice only a handful will try to make it! Well we are in trouble. To keep that price I am doing all the flying, which puts me in the odd position of having to come up with a # to limit this event. I guess we will be doing this very, very often! I am sorry, but I can only do about 4 tandems /hr
